Russia has launched a pilot project to restrict access to phishing sites and applications that are created under the guise of official websites of government agencies and companies. Within the framework of the project, the goal is to work out mechanisms of interaction between various state and non-state structures in identifying and blocking fraudulent web resources, as well as to prepare proposals for the legislative enshrinement of such mechanisms. The participants of the pilot project on the government side are the Ministry of Digital Media, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Tax Service, Rospatent, the Bank of Russia and the Prosecutor General's Office. The new system will operate in test mode until 1 March 2026.
Director of the Cybersecurity Monitoring Department of Security Vision Nikolai Goncharov on the air of the program "Accurate Time Signals" on Radio of Russia told how the pilot project to block fake sites will work, why it is impossible to follow unknown links and how a new measure to limit the possibility of receiving SMS during a telephone conversation can affect the fight against fraud.
